After 36 years in graphic design, it was time to undertake the task I had in mind to do a painting. Being in the right frame of mind, I set out to buy some acrylics, canvas and a collection of brushes to paint the famous shipwreck on Cefn Sidan Sands. It was like stepping back in time and knowing the area very well, the feel of painting a scene that was great interest to me onto a large format canvas was astounding.

The influence of graphics is obviously apparent in my work but I would like to think that this ‘adds’ to my approach in creating a style that has become a mode of expression in my collection that is very distinctive and personal.
