Llansteffan Castle, Carmarthenshire

Llansteffan Castle, built on the site of a late Bronze Age fort sits on a hill overlooking the River Tywi as it enters Carmarthen Bay near the beautiful village of Llansteffan.

The summit can only be reached from one side and there is a lovely walk at the base of the hill to Scotts Bay – one of my favourites.  Memories never fade and I have a very strong bond with Llansteffan and of course the Castle since I was a young child. I often visited family relations who lived in the centre of the village in the summer months and even today, not much has changed. The Castle remains on the hilltop and the walk along Scotts Bay around the headland still reveals the huge expanse of pristine sands (when the tide is out) with the most breathtaking views of Carmarthenshire Bay. I felt the passion and emotion combined in capturing one of the most wonderful scenic views in Carmarthenshire.
