During my time living in Llandaff, Cardiff, I often visited Dunravern Bay in Southerndown for a little adventure with my dog Mylo and another view of this incredible coastline. It is predominately sandy beach with rocky areas exposed at high tide. It is located along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, and is enclosed by spectacular cliffs.
This is one of those special areas I wanted to capture on canvas and I’m so pleased that at last, I have found the time to paint a spectacular view. I looked to create a dramatic coastal scene and with my style of painting, the palette knife provides the scope to add the layers of texture and atmosphere to the painting.
