This is a privately commissioned work of art

“ While building our contemporary new home on the coast we soon came to the conclusion that our current collection of framed prints would not do justice to the house. We had a palette of colours, based on the shade of timber, floor tiles, stone and wall colour that we wanted to use. At our first meeting with Vyvyan and his wife Barbara, it became clear that our colour ideas and potential landscape scenes could be captured on canvas. The advice and sharing of their experiences was crucial in terms of canvas sizes, frame design/colour along with potential locations to show off the artwork. We moved in six months ago and can honestly say we are delighted with our “Living with Art“. Comments from visitors are most complimentary.”

Whitesands Bay, Pembrokeshire

On my first ever visit to Whitesands Bay, I was impressed with the beautiful bay and the remote rocky headland of St Davids Head – it is well known as one of the best surfing beaches in the country. My brief was to capture an unusual part of this area which reflected character and persona. Following a short walk along the cliff tops on the west side, I came across a rocky outcrop which captured my imagination and I immediately took some images for reference.

This painting is the end result of simply seeking to find something that is different and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed painting this scene and I believe it is one of my best to date.
